Placebo-remedy

Hi-ho, time for another general update. I had a nerve conduction study done on both hands, but it came up negative (which is what the surgeon expected.) Unfortunately, this means they still don't know what's wrong with my left hand. I also got a brace made up yesterday (http://i433.photobucket.com/albums/qq56/placebo-remedy/Photoon2011-03-24at1554.jpg), but I'm not sure if it's supposed to feel like this? It's pressing pretty fiercely on my thumb joint, which is apparently what the physio was going for, but it's also straightening out my thumb (which is always curved). I don't have a date for surgery yet. I have to make an appointment to have a painful test done in both my hands, in case it's damaged nerves causing the majority of my pain. I also have to see a different doctor to make me a thumb-brace to wear that will supposedly help with some of the pain in my right hand. After they've tested my nerve-function, depending on the results, I'll go in for surgery. If it's nerve-damage (which he said is unlikely)– it will be a very simple procedure, which I will probably need in both hands. –everything in my life sucks right now. I am trying to stay positive, but I am feeling down a lot lately. My hands are really painful. I stopped drawing in December, but if anything, the pain is worse now. It hurts to do simple stuff like taking notes in class and getting ready. I can deal with my right hand, but I'm afraid that he won't be able to do anything for my left, and that I won't be able to draw at all if my right doesn't heal completely.   I'm getting x-rays Friday to bring to the specialist next week.
